Transitioning Into Full-time Entrepreneurship (God's Way)

It has always been my dream since I was a little girl to work for myself. When I dreamt about my life it always led back to working for myself. Whether it'd be having my own boutique, dance studio, or being a travel journalist, it was always my #1 goal.

Being a full-time entrepreneur is something I've been manifesting since I was 6 years old and didn't even know it until now. My journey in life, business, and my career has evolved me; each experience I've taken on has prepared me for this moment.

I'm excited to say that on July 22, 2021, I made the transition from full-time employee to full-time entrepreneur. This is a big deal for me! I've been working at this since I was 18 years old.

It's crazy because we think we know how our life should go and then BOOM, God switches it up on you! I just knew at 18 years old I was going to go to college, graduate, and move to NY or LA and become a Fashion Stylist to the stars! Although it wasn't far-fetched from what I've accomplished, it wasn't God's plan. Nor, was it going to happen when or the way I thought it would.

Now that I'm 29 and self-employed, I see things differently. I see why I didn't become self-employed after college (because I was irresponsible) and why everything I (not God) dreamed for myself didn't come to pass until now. God was building my character and shaping me into who I needed to be for this moment. This even means this moment of me being vulnerable and sharing my journey with you.

The #1 thing I've learned throughout my life and to this day, is to trust God anyway. You may have all these plans for your life and they don't work out, but trust God anyway. You may have to take the biggest exam of your life exam and fail. Still, trust God anyway. Even when you don't know-how, want to, nor feel like it, trust Him anyway.

God will make a way out of no way, and make a crooked path straight. After all of my business ideas that have failed and plans that didn't go through, I just knew my self-employment would come from being a Real Estate Agent. My thought was, "I may not make enough income to thrive solely off my business, but if I break into Real Estate, that will at least give me the finances to start working for myself."

I registered into Real Estate School, saved up 6 months of my income, and took the real estate exam 3 times and still don't have my license (we're talking current time here). After that, I threw up my hands and let go of control.

I let go, trusted God, and He pushed me to start a social media marketing agency. THEN, I became self-employed. See how that worked, my plan FLOPPED, and God's plan FLOURISHED! It wasn't my fast-track idea to full-time entrepreneurship that got me there, it was trusting God and being obedient that did.

I can go on and on about my story, but I say all that to say. Let go and let God. Trust Him anyway even when your life doesn't look like it's going as "planned." Your heart's desires and goals will happen in God's timing and not your own. You will soon be flourishing as you've imagined, just trust God and embrace the process.
